I will be taking a short (okay, it's a week long) WikiBreak from all the wikis I'm a member on. Pretty much I'm on an "Internet Break", depending on the situation.
The reason for this is that, being a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets (okay, my mom forced me to join because I'm Asian, and 60% of the squadron I'm in are Asians), I was granted the opportunity to go to Parris Island, South Carolina, where thousands of U.S. Marines pass through each year. While this exercise was optional, my mom forced me to go on it (Man, aren't moms picky nowadays?).
I will probably not be able to edit from March 10 to March 14. Cell phones are permitted on the trip, but I'm going to need WiFi if I want to edit and not face my parents with a …Read more >
I never thought it would come to this. Two full years in the Dead Zone. And we have all survived this long. The game has come a very long way since its humble beginnings - with the Bounty Office, Alliances, and tons and tons of new weapons and gear. We've made incredible progress since then.
The wiki has changed a lot as well, with the return of me and several new members of the wiki. Each clothing item in the game now has its own article. Same with the food and drink items. The Rare and Unique pages have been reconstructed and tweaked as we now know that Rares and Uniques are randomly generated, making our previous list redundant and difficult to navigate through and even more difficult to maintain. We have a new admin to keep things in shap…Read more >

It happened today; we lost 4 men while they were checking an abandoned hotel in The Bricks area. When we saw the infected coming from that building we left our men hopelesly outnumbered and alone.
Commander Maxwell says we cannot take time to cry over the dead or help people, that we have a mission to complete. That this whole 'outbreak' thing will be solved in less than a month. That we are doing the right thing. Fool! The things I've saw... the death, the violence.... it does things to people.
This thing, is just the beggining for something bigger... and worse.

We're proud to announce the re-introduction of the forums on The Last Stand Wiki. The forums are a place for the community to get together and discuss wiki-related topics, or just about anything in general.
The forums were originally created along with the wiki when it was founded way back in September 30, 2010. There were a few threads created in the Watercooler forum, but other than that it was underused, and eventually forgotten entirely.
For a long time, the wiki never had a real place where they could just chat in. The chat room was also underused, and most editors resorted to article comments, blog posts, or message walls to get their voices out to the community.
Today, I'm happy to say that the wiki does have a proper meeting place, and…Read more >

So recently, um, I was cruising the weapon quality page. It was generally good, but as mentioned in the comments, there has been really no way to differentiate Minor and Major positive conditions. I mean, negative is obvious, but there's no clear mark to say if a positive attachment is okay or if its awesome. Until now. While clearing out my 95% full inventory in the Dead Zone, I noticed that some weapons have positive attachments that still keep it in the "common" category, like QUIET, and others, like SUPPRESSED, that make it into an "uncommon" weapon. Got me excited: maybe there in fact is a rating system in-game for "minor" and "major" weapons. I am going to look into it.
But I can't do this by myself. With a ch…
Today, after leaving my compound I stumbled upon two HERC troopers assaulting a young girl. I had my pistol and, since she looked almost my age, I shot one of them in the head. The other guy started to fire his rifle and took cover behind a car. I tried to shot him but I missed every shot.
When I ran out of bullets, he approached to me. He was about to kill me when a rain of bullets fell on him; some militia men. The girl was with them and helped me up. One of them apporached and congratulated me for saving the girl and offered me a place to stay for the night: I accepted.
I knew I wouldn't survive the night alone, but I'll stay with them just for this night...
After the night, the girl came and said someone wanted to talk to me. Shannon, th…

Another year is coming to an end here in the Dead Zone. There's snow on the ground, festive cheer in the air, and Infected Santa's come to town, finding out who's naughty or nice. Guess the zombie infection doesn't change everything about a person. Be sure to collect the gifts he's dropping if you run across them, someone's offering keys and a special reward to everyone who does. As a final note, my sources indicate that this course of events will last until the last day of the year, so you better watch out and not get caught sleeping.
All the changes to the game are summarized here. The most important changes for this wiki, of course, are the new items and areas, as well as the weapons that had their levels changed. Please help out with th…Read more >

Was looking at some of the Compound Structure pages, and noticed that the table for Upgrade Levels was pretty cluttered on some of them. I'm thinking of trimming them down a bit, and this is what I came up with using the Level 1 F.U.E.L. Generator (one of the most cluttered) as an example.
This is still open to further alterations, of course, just leave your feedback and suggestion(s) in the comments below. If you think that this is unnecessary, then let me know in the comments as well.

So I saw some "thing" today. It was around midnight and was woken up by somthing. "Just a rat" thats what I assumed. Boy was I wrong. I grabbed my assualt rifle and went outside. What I saw was the most terrifiing thin I've ever seen. It's legs we're long and thin. Covered in what I can only describe as hair. It's glowed. I was terrified. To Terrified to even scream. I just looked at me. Then it ran. I fell backwards and ran back inside and shut the doors. I've attached a drawing of what I saw. I don't know what it is. I'm terrified. Today some HERC guys showed up, armed to the teeth and droped off via Helicopter, there were around fifteen or twenty of them agianst ten of us. we were able to flank them and point our rifles on at them. Before we could even say a word the HERC soldiers turned around in an instant their guns were pointed at our heads. One of them looked like an excutive officer. He turned around slowley and told his troops to stand down. He sat us down and told us that the new lead officer in charge of the Dead Zone said he wanted to use the survivers like us to both his and our advantage. We kill infected and help clear out areas in the city, and with a bit more time HERC can get us out of here. I agreed to the terms of his offer. Next thing you …Read more >

So far, I've improved my 'compound' with the help of a man named Ivan; I've traded some of HERC top-notch equipement for resources for improving the walls and some fine automated defense systems. He asked me if I planned to attract people to my compound but I didn't answer: I won't have people here that will deliberately hate me for working for HERC.

HERC soldiers and military personnel are relocating infected individuals on Phase 1, while individuals on Phase 2 are being disposed properly. By now, our only way to detect infection is by blood samples; this way, while accurate, takes too long and has put most on my team on the evac chores rather than the research task we were sent originally. After Phase 2, the heart rate and respiratory functions decrease and subject clinically dies but reanimates 5 to 15 minutes after 'confirmed death'. I cannot believe this, I mean... is just... unbelievable. Is like those B-horror movies about walking corpses. Report shows that subjects show uncontrollable rage, they seem to be driven by feral instincs; mainly the need of feeding, pale skin, low heart and respiratory rates. When it comes to reverting vandalism, Wikia has a few built-in tools to help good, loyal users. The majority of Wikians are good people and mean no harm, but there are those who delight in turning pages into complete nonsense. We call them "Vandalizers".
All users are able to revert vandalism, much like all users can edit any page. The only exceptions to this is if:
- Your account or IP address is blocked, either by an admin or by Wikia Staff
- The page is protected and you do not have the privileges to edit the page (There are different protection levels... browse Wikia Help for that)
Either way, you can always lend a hand.
Anyways, the purpose of this blog post is to help users with reverting vandalism, so let's get to the point.

Currently, if a weapon is in multiple games, info for every version gets crammed into a single page. Personally, I think this is a messy and potentially confusing arrangement, which is why I'm thinking of giving each game's version a separate page.
As this is a pretty big change in terms of page numbers, I'd like to hear what the community has to say about it first before going through with it.
I'm thinking of doing something similar to the Fallout wiki (I'm open to alternatives, though), which has an overview page which describes the weapon's background, with all the gameplay info …Read more >
