    Pretty late by now (sorry guys, been busy), but if you haven't seen it yet, here's the preview for the Alliances feature. If you feel like joining or creating one, might want to get started on looking around for a group of friends or like-minded players.

    The update's coming in 2 stages, with the first one being "Sign Up", which'll give you time to decide which Alliance, if any, you want to join, and let you get used to being in one. The second stage is when things heat up between the Alliances, and will come a few weeks afterwards.

    After looking at the TLS:DZ Story Timeline and Jack's Diary Entries in The Last Stand 1, and the events in The Last Stand 2 and Union City, I've been wondering whether the two actually match each other.


    First, let's use a point of reference. We know that in TLS1, the TV reception disappeared on day 15. This is day 43 on TLS:DZ Story Timeline.

    43 - 15 = 28. Thus, Jack began writing on Day 28 of the zombie apocalypse.

    That much can be said. What else do we need to debunk?

    A revamp of the current injury system is in the pipes. Instead of disabling the use of a survivor until a period of time has passed, injuries will instead reduce their maximum health (as well as other effects depending on where they're injured) and have to be healed using special Medical Items that can be scavenged or crafted.

    As a heads-up, Medics will be required to craft the higher-end medical items (possibly also required to actually treat the injuries), so if you don't already have one, make sure to get at least one before the update hits. A Leader with a high Medic stat doesn't count.

    I recently received a suggestion to convert the compound buildings' Upgrade Level list into table form. Seems like a good idea to me, since it compacts the list by quite a bit, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

    However, since this is a pretty big change, I'd like to get some second opinions on it first. Please provide feedback and/or suggestions in the comments or on my Message Wall.

    Using the Vegetable Garden page as an example:

    Happy 1st Anniversary!

    It's been one whole year since The Last Stand: Dead Zone was first released on Facebook (give or take a few days). The game has come a long way since then, hasn't it? Crafting, Traps, Active Gear... I hope that this rate of progress will continue for this year as well.

    Now on to gear level.


    The first question is how modifiers (e.g. Hardened, Complete, Custom) stack with the base bonus. Given that we saw that bonuses for each level stacked multiplicatively for weapons, we can guess that all mod bonuses and the stock bonus for gear all stack multiplicatively. Can we confirm this hypothesis?


    First, we note that bonuses that come only from mods, e.g reload speed on mods, don't increase by level. A level 20 Custom Extended Mags has the same reload speed bonus as a level 10 Custom Extended Mags. This fact will allow us to analyze mods in isolation. Glasses have no stock increase to accuracy. Clear Shooting Glasses have a listed +18.1% bonus to accuracy, which must come from the +5% from Clear and +12.5% from Shooti…

    The first question: what are the base stats?


    Do they depend directly on the quality of the weapon? I have two level 26 SCAR-Hs with no damage or accuracy mods. One is and one is . They have exactly the same damage and accuracy, so we conclude that quality has no direct effect.


    With that settled, we can look for round numbers--humans love round numbers, so if we see round numbers somewhere, we can expect that that level is the "base level". Let's look at some unmodified SCAR-Hs:

    I'm sure you've been wondering what that slot is for. Wonder no longer, for Con has revealed it's for Active Gear. See here for full preview.

    Active Gear are items that must be manually activated, unlike Passive Gear (the kind we have now) which just affects stats. Initially, it'll just be grenades (explosive and smoke), but Con is planning on adding class-specific Active Gear as well as stuff like Riot Shields in future updates.

    This is how they'll work:

    • Equipped by selecting how many of the item you want on that survivor.
    • Each Active Gear item will have a "Carry Limit" which restricts how much of that item a survivor can carry.
    • Activating Active Gear is done by Right clicking it.

    Implementing Option 3 - Halt creation of new pages

    Currently, we're giving each one its own separate page. While this worked well for the small numbers we had early on, the sheer number of different Rares and Uniques in existence are going to bloat the DZ Weapons and DZ Gear Templates, and I certainly wouldn't want to be the one making up Descriptions for all of them.

    That's why I'm proposing alternatives. Please give feedback on them, votes or your own ideas in the comments below.

    1. Post all images of Rare and Unique items in galleries on those pages, similarly to what is done for the Schematics page.

    SERIOUSLY, What is it with bold survivors ?, right now im level 15 and i have 8 survivors and 4 of them are bald! one of them is a Recon, so it doesnt matter because you can berily see his face or head, but i hate that it looks like every human being that actually survived the zombie apocalypse is a bald man or woman... YES! i have two bald womans.

    Anyway, i think CON should put customization, at least one time customozation for newcoming survivors with an alternative color skin for each class too, because as far as i remember there were an alternative color from each "class skin" in the leader customization, right?

    Maybe i should make a post in getsatisfaction or something.

    At some point in the future, our survivors are going to be getting books to read. These ain't no ordinary books, though, they can somehow warp reality to an extent. See full preview here.

    • 4 Book Slots (only 1 book per category can be slotted in at any one time).
    • 5 Book Categories:
      • Combat
      • Mission
      • Survival
      • Resource
      • General
    • All books can be found at any level.
    • Books affect entire group, not individuals.
    • Three types:
      • Permanent, but only gives a small boost.
      • Temporary, but gives a massive boost.
      • Challenge, which allows you to tweak the difficulty.

    Since anyone can find and use these books, this makes them great for trading.

    Upcoming Task Update

    The next major update is bringing in a whole lot of new tasks, including a new type called Survivor Requests. See here for the full preview.


    • Your survivors may request that you do certain things depending on the state of your compound, including keeping up resource supplies, getting combat experience and assistance in leveling up.
    • Failure to complete these requests within a certain time limit causes a morale penalty, while success awards you with XP or boosted morale.

    • Time limited tasks that the entire player base contributes to. It could be anything from collecting an amount of resources or certain items, to killing X amount of zombies or even raiding or helping people. You cannot receive the reward without contributing.

    First off, another nameable Halloween-exclusive weapon, a Scythe, has been revealed on TLS:DZ's Facebook page. Go here to vote. "The Harvester" is leading by a large margin.

    UPDATE: "The Harvester" joins "Ash's Right Hand" as a Halloween-exclusive weapon.

    Now for the really big change. Range is being massively reworked in the Halloween update primarily for compound raids, though it will affect regular missions as well. See here for full preview.

    So today, I cleaned out my weapons inventory in TLS:DZ. That.. was interesting. I wish, and hope, for a trading system soon. I feel bad scrapping all of them except for about 30. Another milestone, I'm now to the point, where through scavenging warehouses, I'm finding enough extra food and water, I no longer have to raid supermarkets. Now I'm just finishing my compound up, which is gonna take awhile.

    Fuel too rare or too common?

    I got to play Last stand deadzone on armorgames many days ago and so far it's pretty good, However the Problem is that i'm severly low on fuel and i can't buy guns for my soliders adams and Bradley (Bradley carries a shotgun and Adams carries a improvised smg). I can get fuel (the Hard way though since i can't ask my mom for her Banking and credit account or she will get pissed at me) so i have to find it in one of buildings in deadzone, it's not easy since Fuel is somewhat Infrequent and i know my two fighters ain't enough to raid the higher level buildings since i don't know if you lose survivors permenately or not. So the Question about is does fuel really have to be so rare or uncommon since i'm getting pissed off for only having 12fue…

    Yes, this is the only way to start a proper converstation without spamming on unrelated pages. Speaking of which, the old unofficial forum created by ASDF has been dead for 3 months now. I wonder if school (work, whatever) has roll in, and everyone now plays less. Or the game has taken too little (or too much) time for you. I think the greatest problem now is that DZ is a Facebook game, so everyone wants to stay hidden.

    This blog is unrelated to the game(s) proper, I just needed to vent about a mistake I made here on the wiki.

    As you may or may not know, the "We Begin Again" badge here on the TLS wiki is for editing for a whole year in a row, and you have to start all over again if you miss a day. Guess what happened? All because I had dozed off and neglected to check the wiki once I had woken up.

    Worst part of it was that I had edited for 312 days without missing one until today despite several close calls. Just another 53 days, and I could have breathed a sigh of relief. Instead, all of it was wasted because I forgot to check.

I unlocked most of the possible achievement that are there, saw how my progress was going, even got time to think about how much longer it would take to finish all of them. But then, as I was struggling through the Assalt Rifle Expert achievement, a little surpre came along: The Search Party achievement. And here I was thinking that th Surgeon achievement was probably going to be the last one I get... Poor little fool. Now I see the thruth, it's 100,000 friggin' searches. We're domed, my friends. ^^

    Finally, it's here! I've just finished the Blunt Advanced achievement! Hurray for me!

    After all that zombie's head smashing, I'm still halfway through the Surgeon achievement. Meanwhile, there's less than 200 searchs left to complete the Gatherer achievement and little more than 7000 for the Woodsman achievement. I guess it's time to go back to raiding these Hardware Stores... :P

    About the new crafting-related achievements, I got the first three ones (Man With The Plan, Tinkerer and Upgrader) right off the bat. However, in the meantime, I've managed to complete both the Clothier and the Heavy Metal achievements! ^^ Hurray! There's still around 13000 to got for the Woodsman achievement, though...

    Oh, yeah! And now there's less then 1000 to go for the Gatherer achievement! The count is at 110 completed achievements and 129 unlocked. I'll also have to make my way around the bugged player-related achievements, unless they fix them first. I've got a theory that should work to complete them, but it's so much damn work... It'll have to wait until I've got more time.

    Anyway, just keep going!
