Background
Edit
The first polymer-framed handgun to achieve commercial success, its generous magazine and simple ergonomics made this pistol a hit with police forces, militaries and private citizens around the world; probably the very reason why so many criminals use it as well.
A common sight in the hands of policemen and criminals alike.
Tactics
Edit
The Last Stand
Edit
Jack's starting weapon; it fires and reloads quickly, but its low damage sometimes requires emptying multiple magazines into a single target. It can be easily replaced by any other firearms that can be scavenged.
The Last Stand 2
Edit
Jack starts off with this pistol again; it has the same attributes as in the previous game, and the other firearms that can be scavenged will quickly render this gun obsolete. Give this to a fellow survivor to bolster your defenses, at least until better weapons are be found.
Pros
Edit
- Good RoF
- Reloads Quickly
- Default Weapon
- Accurate
- Large Magazine
Cons
Edit
- Low Damage (lowest of all weapons)
The Last Stand: Union City
Edit
The G17 in this installment allows the player to put out a lot of rounds due to its large magazine and quick reload, making it invaluable during horde attacks. However, it deals low damage per shot, thus consuming more ammo than pistols that deal higher damage. This gun will serve a player well until a SMG is obtained.

The Last Stand: Dead Zone
Edit
A large step up from previous semi-auto handguns, its combination of a large, quickly reloaded magazine and a high rate of fire means that the G-17 can put out a lot of fire for a handgun, allowing it to serve as a cheaper and more accurate alternative to fully automatic weapons. Its low damage does mean it may take several shots to down one zombie, which can be dangerous when combined with its short effective range.
Recommended Gear
Edit
- Ammunition Mods somewhat compensate for its low damage, increasing efficiency.
- Extended Mags allow it to lay down even more fire before needing to reload, making it more effective as a substitute for fully automatic weapons.
How to Obtain

- It can be scavenged during Level 9+ missions.
- Level 12 Stabilized Suppressed variants can be crafted using a G-17 and 18 Machined Parts at a Level 4+ Weapons Bench for 15
