|Large Hardware Store|
Area + 1
Good source of resources for construction.
Much like their smaller counterparts, they sold a large variety of household hardware and provided special services like custom-order items and repairs before the outbreak. They also have a large amount of building supplies in stock, making them valuable for any survivor groups in need of construction resources.
- Wood, Metal, Cloth, construction-related components and household junk are very common.
- Construction-related melee weapons like Hammers can occasionally be found.
- Food, Water, medical items, other types of weapons, and gear are rare, but can sometimes be found.
The level of a large hardware store is always one level higher than the area it is located in.
Variant A is decently large and has 4 zombie spawns, all of which are positioned close to the resource containers concentrated in the northern, southern and eastern corners. Keeping your survivors near the designated scavenger at all times is recommended, as is making sure they're always placed between the designated scavenger and the nearest two zombie spawns.
Variant B has 5 zombie spawns, one in the west corner, one next to a large shelf, one in the employee room, one in the warehouse, and one in a Gardening/Outdoor area of the store. Bring two or three survivors with long ranged weapons to cover the scavenger in the open area and a survivor with a short-range gun or melee to cover the scavenger in the rooms while the rest eliminate the zombies trying to get inside the rooms.
Due to the number of containers and zombies typically present, a mission in a large hardware store should be carried out by four or five survivors.
At least one Long Rifle is recommended here, as there is plenty of space for it to be used in, as well as few shot-blocking obstructions. It should be backed up with either melee weapons and/or shorter ranged guns.
