Why use metal instead of wood or cloth? Well, first of all, metal is tough and sturdy, and if treated, can withstand water and rust. Secondly, wood and cloth burns, but metal is fireproof. Thirdly, if an enemy turns the corner and bumps into you, you can whack the life out of them with a metal box! Wood will simply break and the cloth is just laughable.
