Background
Edit
A tube-fed holdout shotgun; the weapon of choice of homeowners and police officers for CQC and self-defense due to its much shorter length, which increases its portability and maneuverability in tight spaces, but at the expense of some ammunition capacity, accuracy, and range.
A common and recognized firearm sold throughout the world.
Tactics
Edit
The Last Stand
Edit
It fires a small spread of projectiles that altogether yield a large amount of damage, stopping most enemies with only one or two shots. However, it is slow to operate and reload and should be relegated to a backup role on later days. This is the third weapon the player can scavenge, but it can also be picked up after killing a fat biker zombie on the fifth night.
Notes
Edit
- There is a bug where if the player starts reloading then pauses the game, the weapon will reload whilst the game is paused.
The Last Stand 2
Edit
The same gun as seen in TLS1. It is a good firearm to give to a fellow survivor, as they can reload it quickly (only needs to load a single round to load all eight), unlike Jack (needs to load all eight individually), and is a good primary/secondary weapon until the player begins entering more heavily infested areas. It can be scavenged in Whistler's Grove.
The Last Stand: Union City
Edit
Again, the same weapon, only some of the pellets can actually "miss" and hit other enemies. A good primary/backup weapon against small or moderately-sized groups, but players must make sure to reload often.
How to Obtain
Edit
- A Normal variant can be found in Room 203 of Glendale Apartments. (Canal Park)
- A Custom Stock variant can be found in the Union Security gun cage. (Newtown)
- A Normal variant can be found in the third house on Fifth Street. (Whistler's Forest)
Pros
Edit
- High Total Damage
- High Knockback
- Can interrupt reload sequence to shoot/shove
- Can hit multiple targets
Cons
Edit
- Slow ROF
- Reloads Slowly
- Inaccurate
- Low Ammo Cap
- Very Loud
The Last Stand: Dead Zone
Edit
Likely the first shotgun the player obtains, it is a large improvement over the handguns available before then. However, its poor stats in categories other than damage and knockback means it should be used as part of a team, where its wielder supports and is supported by the other survivors.
Recommended Gear
Edit
- Ammunition Mod increases the damage dealt.
- Ammunition Pouches/Bandoliers decreae the reloading time.
- Extended Mags allow it to lay down more fire before having to reload.
- Glasses increase the short effective range, with some variants increasing accuracy as well.
Notes
Edit
- The Shotgun uses the same model as the Ambrose Shotgun, with the only difference being a different color on the wooden parts.
How to Obtain
Edit
- It can be scavenged during Level 4+ missions.
- A Level 5 Long Barrel variant can be obtained by completing the Ivan The Trader task.
- Level 7 Extended Choked variants can be crafted using a Shotgun and 4 Machined Parts at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 4
after scavenging the required schematic.
- Level 9 Quiet Quick Load variants can be crafted using a Shotgun and 14 Machined Parts at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 5
after scavenging the required schematic.
- Level 11 Quiet Quick Action variants can be crafted using a Shotgun, 35 Machined Parts, 1 Fore-end, 1 Trigger System, 1 Barrel and 10 Rivets at a Level 3+ Weapons Bench for 19
after scavenging the required schematic. Also requires a Level 11+ Engineer.
