Tasks are a feature available in The Last Stand: Dead Zone. They provide storyline (not yet implemented) and optional objectives for the player to accomplish, and rewards them with XP and occasionally items upon completion. The rewards are not automatically given, instead, the player must collect them from the Objectives menu.

Tasks can be tracked at any time by clicking on the "Track Task" button or the circle next to the task's name in the Tasks menu. Tracking a task will make it appear at the top-right of the screen. Tasks do not have to be tracked in order to be fulfilled. Up to 5 tasks can be tracked simultaneously.

Welcome To The Dead Zone

  • Description: Completed your introduction to the Dead Zone.
  • Requirements: Complete Tutorial

Attract A Survivor

Gear Up

  • Description: It would help if our survivors were better equipped to deal with the infected. Search for gear out there.
  • Requirements: Gear 3/3
  • Rewards: +100 XP

Resource Run

  • Description: With all this construction, we're going to need more building resources. Go to one of the nearby Hardware Stores and raid it for supplies.
  • Requirements: Hardware Stores Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: +100 XP

Weapon Run

  • Description: We should stock up on weapons and ammo, with more survivors coming in we'll need to have the right tools for the job at hand.
  • Requirements:

Recycle

  • Description: We can get useful resources out of any item you find, we just need to recycle them.
  • Requirements: Items Recycled 3/3
  • Rewards: +50 XP

Collecting

  • Description: Gather from your resource buildings regularly to keep your supplies up.
  • Requirements: Collect Resources 3/3
  • Rewards: +75 XP

Thinning The Herd

  • Description: Clearing out some of the infected in South Trenton should make it easier for us to move east.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 300/300

Security Breach

Street Sweeper

  • Description: There's a large office building in the middle of South Trenton that might have some useful supplies in it. Clear the street in front of it, hopefully it'll make the area safer.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +1,300 XP

Target Practice: Infected Scientists

  • Description: There's no way we'll know if these HERC scientist suits make them harder to put down without trying. Kill infected scientists in Riverside.
  • Requirements: Infected Scientist Kills 30/30
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Target Practice: Runners

  • Description: Moving targets definitely take some practice to hit consistantly. These 'runners' provide just what we need. Kill runner infected in Riverside.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 30/30 (Note: Running Fat, Armored or Scientist zombies do not count)
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Target Practice: Dogs

  • Description: Fastest moving targets we've come up against. These mongrel beasts are most dangerous in packs. Practice hitting them around Stadium.
  • Requirements: Infected Dog Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +650 XP

Target Practice: Heavies

  • Description: These heavy set infected are dangerous, we need to figure out a way to take them out effectively. Kill as many as you can around the Stadium.
  • Requirements: Fat Infected Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +600 XP

Clean Up

  • Description: Surely the new survivors in your group need some practice, take them out for some.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 100/100
  • Rewards: +650 XP

Target Practice: Runners (2)

  • Description: Can never have enough moving target practice. Kill some runners in Northwood.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 50/50 (Note: Running Fat, Armored or Scientist zombies do not count)

Gun Store Access

  • Description: There's a gun store here in Trenton Park that should have what we need, clear the street in front of it of infected.
  • Requirements: Kills On Street 100/100
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Clear Waters

  • Description: Make a mark here by clearing out as many infected as you can. This might be our only way across the river.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 200/200 (Note: Kills must be carried out in Riverside Waters)
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Riverside Runners

  • Description: These runners are getting more powerful, we need more practice in taking them down.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 60/60 (Note: Running Fat, Armored or Scientist zombies do not count and kills must be carried out in Riverside Waters)
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Target Practice: Police

  • Description: These former members of the police department are armored up pretty heavily. Take a bunch of them down, see if you can learn anything.
  • Requirements: Infected Police Kills 20/20 (Note: Kills must be carried out in Riverside Heights)

  • Description: These hulking bikers pack a punch. They'll knock you around so keep your distance. Best bet is to concentrate fire.

House Clearance

  • Description: If we're going to move freely through here, I'd suggest clearing out the residences of North Trenton. Being so far from ground zero, lots of people holed up here.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 150/150 (Note: Kills made in Large Residences also count)

Retake The Streets

  • Description: North Trenton saw some rough action during the outbreak. There's a lot of military blockades on the streets here. Clear them out.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 300/300

  • Description: These fat bastards are turning out to be more trouble than we first thought. Somehow they're still very mobile.

Suburban Wasteland

  • Description: The people here in Brookvale North were caught out. I don't understand how the infection made it out here so fast, maybe it came from out of town?

Destruction

  • Description: These unfinished buildings are dangerous enough without the Infected. Get rid of them so we can explore Brookvale West more easily.

  • Description: If we're going to want to cross the bridges one day we should start by clearing out the roads in Brookvale East leading to them.

  • Description: We should clear out that hospital in Brookvale East to search for medical supplies.

  • Description: If we clear out some of these infected from the streets of Brookvale South we should be able to isolate smaller groups.

  • Description: A survivor is reporting seeing more infected Police in Brookvale South, finishing them off should make life easier for our scavengers.

  • Description: Let's make one final push to really rid Brookvale South of infected. Drive them out of town!

  • Description: The subway system seems to be where a lot of infected get around, and the stations in Pinedale are no exception. Clear them out!

  • Description: The streets get tougher to clear out the further we push. Never the less our scavengers appreciate the work. Clear out the streets in Brookvale Banks

  • Description: The traffic in Canal Park didn't get close to finding a way out of the city, hopefully the gear is still here.

  • Description: Clearing out some of the buildings in Newtown will give us enough time to identify the worthwhile places to look for resources.

  • Description: The offices in West Bricks are full with employees who locked themselves in, thinking they would be safe. Clear them out to make sure they don't cause us issues down the line.

  • Description: Many of the initial survivors would have been break outs from the local prison in The Bricks. They must have stored weapons here before becoming overrun.

  • Description: The stores here in Uptown look to hold plenty of food and water, but we need to clear them out first.

Police HQ

  • Description: Union Citys finest in Uptown are now nothing but a wall of flesh between us and their old weapons. Wipe them out and secure the weapons.

  • Description: Clearing out these Uptown streets is a must do here. Survivors are reporting large numbers of tough infected.

  • Description: Clearing out the infected in Uptown will help us get a good foothold on the city. Get rid of them!

  • Description: The streets and security buildings around Stadium should yield some higher grade weapons than we're used to. Search them and see what you can find.

Playing House

  • Description: Plenty of abandoned houses around here. Makes sense, most people were herded up and brought to the stadium after the outbreak. Search them for resources.

  • Description: Ivan drops by and mentions he's envious of your generator. He's looking for parts for a windmill to power the place he is holed up in.

Underground

  • Description: The subways of Brookvale North became a refuge soon after the fall. Not just a place for rats and vagrants anymore. Clear them out, might be something useful there.

Overrun

  • Description: Brookvale West was one of the first to be overrun when the infection hit Union City, so its possible that not many survivors have had the chance to come back here. Let's start with the streets and highways.

Stand Still

  • Description:Many of the trucks used the road out of Brookvale West through Whistler's Forest were based in the local Depot. When containment was enforced there must have been some trucks stuck there.

  • Description: Military presence in Brookvale East was once strong enough to warrant a Forward Operations Base. That should mean there is no shortage of ammunition.

Survivor Requests

This section requires expansion. You can help The Last Stand Wiki by adding to it.

Survivor Requests are time limited requests from your survivors with variable requirements and rewards, dependent on both the Leader's level and random chance. Failure to complete these requests may inflict a penalty, the severity of which is also variable. Requests can be declined to avoid the penalty.

Note that requests for resources will not count resources gained from automated missions, recycling items or collecting from production buildings.

Infected Kills

  • Description: Head out and kill x infected within the time limit.
  • Survivor Quote Variations:
