Background[]
Safe, clean drinking water is a must for survival, yet millions of people do not have access to drinkable water, and said water is hard to come by. Water filtration facilities are big, expensive, and difficult to carry around, making them a forgotten luxury out in the wilderness. For this reason, self-dissolving water sanitizing tablets were invented to make otherwise undrinkable, disease-harboring water into a valuable resource necessary to sustain life. Simply filter out the larger particles, plop the necessary amount of tablets into the water, mix well, and let it sit before drinking.
Often used by humanitarian response groups, they are also sold under brand names in developing countries in an attempt to reduce waterborne diseases caused by drinking unpurified water.
