A triggered Wheel of Misfortune

The Wheel of Misfortune is a type of trap featured in The Last Stand: Dead Zone.


Wheel + machine guns = 360° of flying metal death.


The W.O.M is triggered by enemies walking right next to it. Once triggered, it spins around and continuously fires, damaging all enemies within its firing range. This also means that it will continue firing even if there are no enemies in its firing range. It has a limited amount of health, which is expended when firing. Once its health is completely expended, it ceases firing and cannot be triggered again until it is repaired in between horde attacks/raids.

Upgrades to this structure improve its damage per shot, health and rate of fire.


  • Indoor and outdoor placement.
  • Cannot be scavenged from during raids.
  • Can be disarmed.
  • Occupies an area of 2x2 squares bordered by walking area.
  • Single-use, but can be rearmed with Ammunition.

  • The name "Wheel of Misfortune" is a reference from a well known game show called "Wheel of Fortune"
