Usage of WoodEdit
Wood is utilized in the construction and upgrading of most compound structures. It is also needed in crafting certain weapons and for completing some of Ivan's tasks.
Wood can be found throughout the Dead Zone, though the amount scavenged depends on the location being searched, with Large Hardware Stores providing the largest amount.
The Wood Drop Off produces a small amount of Wood every hour and some types of Junk, Components and Gear provide Wood when recycled. It is also possible to trade Fuel for Wood at the Fuel Trading Post and some of the removable junk piles scattered across the compound also provide this resource when cleared.
Its associated storage building is Wood Storage.
Several Achievements are associated with scavenging Wood, namely Splinter, Woody and Woodsman.
StrategyEdit
At higher levels, Wood tends to be in great demand. Although Wood is found directly in decent quantities, high-level structures tend to require incredible amounts. Some types of junk and components provide Wood when recycled, most of which can be found in Residences and Large Residences.
Large Hardware Stores are the best place to find Wood, as well as all other construction resources. Failing this, Construction Sites, Warehouses, and regular Hardware Stores are good places to find Wood.
